To a Time-Touched Love

I could be the bow, and you the string,
And love, light-fingered, were to give us voice,
Our song should make the very heavens ring,
The merry birds themselves should then rejoice.
Were you to be the ink, and I the pen,
Our flowing script, combined, should stun the world.
Our wit and wisdom would amaze all men,
Our sweet words fall from oysters, newly pearled.
And should I be the wind, and you the trees,
Our stately dance, like birds in flight, might prove
More beautiful than sparkling, sun-touched seas,
My words and reason proved by heart-felt love.
My heart was bound but yours was always free,
So none of these shall either of us be.

"Desire is everything you ever wanted.
Whoever you are. Whatever you are.
Everything.
Her appearance is the most variable
who, at best, is ideas cloaked
in the semblence of flesh."
